JD Russo's reflection on awareness makes the audience understand that being active in a cause is what makes a difference. A prevailing message made by Russo that I took into consideration was that passion and caring about a craft or idea makes a difference. Being aware of an idea is not enough in making a difference in your area of influence. When one finds care about a particular craft, idea or message, taking action is what makes a difference by creating something out of it. Russo metaphorically states that in order to create waves, water needs to be moved. In order to create something, passion and action has to be applied. In terms of my mentorship opportunity, being able to learn and use what I learn as a leader can only be made into fruition if I am willing to put in time and dedication. In order to become a leader in an area of interest, time, action, and passion need to be applied in order to create what you believe.
