Assignment 18: Annotated Bibliography 2

Saley, Tracy. “FITNESS SPECIALTY CERTIFICATIONS AND CONTINUING EDUCATION HOME STUDY PROGRAMS.” Health and Fitness Education Article: Personal Training Seen As Boom Business In Next Five Years by Tracy Kershaw-Staley, 5 June 2017, www.aahf.info/sec_news/section/personal-training-boom_012507.htm.

The purpose of the article was to demonstrate how the personal training/fitness industry as a business has began to rise exponentially. The amount of traffic and a desire to have a personal trainer and improve one’s fitness over the past years have increased dramatically. Over the past three years, the number of personal trainers available on the market has grown by 46%. This statistic encompasses the desire for the profession in businesses in local areas. The article also goes on to speak on how income level does not truly very on one’s desire to improve one’s health. The flexible schedule assists the average consumer, working around their schedule as a personal trainer.

“Clients get personalized workouts catered to their specific physical needs.” “Today she encounters clients with a different motivation: to get healthy.” “People earn and learn the most when they are at their own homes.”

This is a credible source due to the source in which it originates. The source comes from American Academy of Health and Fitness which is a credible source that offers multiple articles based on the health and fitness industry. In addition to this, the author is a part of the Dayton Business Journal which again is credible source.

This information will be useful to my own mentorship due to the fact that it mixes business/entrepreneurship information with the fitness industry. Understanding that the industry is booming and very successful gives hope for more trainers to come. Statistics that show how the industry is stronger than ever is proof that there is room to grow as an entrepreneur.
